Our Heart of Texas Blues Challenge winners, Matthew Robinson and the Jelly Kings (including Jeff Hayes, Pete Langhans, Steve Power, and Joe Lee King) and Trimmed and Burning (Skye Downing and Ben Stevens), gave everything they had at IBC 2016 this year – and from all reports, garnered great attention and admiration from all corners! Despite their best efforts, neither of these immensely talented artists was selected for the IBC Finals.
Please join us in welcoming our contestants back home to Austin, and next time you see them, make sure you give them a heartfelt thanks for how well they represented our Austin blues community in Memphis – we have great pride in their achievement, and they will always be regarded among the finest of Austin's blues artists!
